Regarding the Tea party Rally on 9/12/09. I was there also. A lot of the trash was picked up by those attending. It was bagged or stacked at the public trash cans, etc., that were available. Some was disposed of away from the Mall. Some in the Metro.. A lot was left on the ground. There were photos and reports of the efforts of the D. C. sanitation workers picking up the trash that was bagged and stacked as well as the trash left on the ground by those less considerate. If we want the.... More

9/12 Tea Party Protest, 2009

Thousands marched on Washington on Sept. 12, 2009, to protest big government. Unfortunately, like many large-scale Washington marches, this one relied heavily on publicly funded garbage men and women to pick up the rubbish. The tons of trash included cardboard signs, plastic bottles, and even prop American flags.
