Archer fishMost insect-eating fish wait for their prey to clumsily fall into the water before they strike, but not the archer fish. Instead, archer fish use specialized mouths to literally shoot insects down with a stream of water. And their aim is remarkable. An adult archer almost never misses its target, and the fish can hit insects perched on a leaf or branch as far as three meters away.
