The inhabitants of the Papua New Guinea's Carteret Islands are losing the battle against water, despite years of effort. Due to storm surges and high tides, the islands have become almost uninhabitable. Scientists estimate the islands will be completely submerged by 2015. The Papua New Guinea government has recently taken measures to relocate the inhabitants before the islands disappear.
