Imagination run wildTrees can be described as “regal” or “majestic.” But they can also be some of the spookiest vegetation on the planet. Who hasn’t stared at a gnarled oak outside the bedroom window in a dark nights and wondered if it was going to bust through? (See 1980s horror classic “Poltergeist.”) In honor of all the trees out there, take a look at some of the creepiest and coolest plants destined to scare your pants off — or crash through your bedroom window. call it what you want,,Nature has a way of projecting beauty with uniqueness all in one.
I agree. I am growing a really unique house plant called the TickleMe Plant. What makes it unique is that the fern like leaves suddenly close and the branches droop when you Tickle It. Minutes later it re-opens. If you have kids the TickleMe Plant Greenhouse makes a great holiday gift. First see video http://www.ticklemeplant.com
Mother nature is absolutely incredible. Thank you sir. homebrew for wii

First photo's roots look a little creepy.
not creepy, but UNIQUE!
i love the first one...it is like a page out of an early chiller...but at the same time i think it is amazing...
Yikes, they scared my pants off. I think there was an episode of 'Jim' where the tree in the yard cast creepy shadows... now that was seriously creepy and I've had nightmares since. Come to think of it, Jim Belushi is pretty creepy and scary in the show. I usually watch something funny so I can sleep that night.
I THINK THE PRICE IS QUITE GOOD
I LIKE IT

I don't think I've ever seen any article about the wonderous nature that surrounds us as positively STUPID as this one. There is no excuse for it, either.
Agreed, JBnID. Stupidest 'article' I've read. Shouldn't even belong on the site.
Pic 1 and Pic 8 are the same photograph.
There's nothing creepy or even remotely unusual about most of these trees. One of them (the churchyard) seems to have some sort of disease. The rest are pretty normal, including the Swamp Cypress (Taxodium distichum) whose roots grow "knees" to breathe, as the tree usually grows in standing water.
The wording of the descriptions here is abysmal, too. I guess that's what happens when you let some work experience kid write an article for your website?
you forgot the Devil's tree in NJ:

Creepy? These trees are beautiful!
Hello, What is the name of the first tree? Thanks!
Those look like Cypress Knees which are the roots of the Pond or Bald Cypress tree to me. They grow in swamp like conditions in the south and here the "knees" are common. IMHO.
This is dumb
Great photos! Mother Nature is absolutely incredible!!
Thank you.
