Wow! Five spectacular parks, but Utah gets stiffed. And where's Alaska? "Improve Your World" one peculiar website at a time.
If you're looking for under-appreciated, how about the North Cascades and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
I understand the need to make the east and south feel better by including the Smoky Mountains or whatever, but without Zion, Bryce, Rocky Mountain, the Tetons, and Denali the list is really kind of an underservice to the parks.
This list loses its credibility by excluding the great national parks of Alaska.
Good Lord where is Zion or Bryce Canyon listed? Who made this list up?
Great pictures, to be sure. But how could you not include Rocky Mountain National Park?
41 State Parks are being closed in New York to help the Governor balance the budget. Besides the obvious detriments this will cause, the truth is that the small amount of money they will save by closing them or restricting access won't even make a noticable dent in the deficit. Maybe we could start getting them delcared National Parks we may have a chance to save them. Niagra Falls? I think we could start with that one...
