America’s most patriotic national parks: Living history
Firs I would mention the recnet G8 summit, Angela Merkel's proposal and president's Bushes reaction to it and his idea how to solve the issue to open the topic You may want to speak about how differently are countries approaching the issue and what is the reason behind it (global economy, investments in traditional industry, rising power of China and India and other countries with little or no environmental regulations etc) I sure would mention how differently are even states within
the USA taking up to this issue. California's entrepreneurship in this field is really interesting. Taking the climate change seriously now can be a significant advantage in the future. Think about the high tech investments in renewables, hybrid cars, etc. In this field there will be big demand for high qualified work force and most of it won't be something that can be off shored in the near future. It's an interesting opportunity and it stays in the country. Very important topic is the danger of oil-dependency . Going green would make USA and other states less dependent on unstable regimes in the Middle East. And I would also mention that the climate change can be a great politic agenda. Think of Al Gore and his Inconvenient Truth.
