Wading through destruction

A man with a bicycle wades through a flooded street in the impoverished Port-au-Prince neighborhood of Cité Soleil on Nov. 6 following the passage of Hurricane Tomas.

Tomas triggered mass flooding and mudslides, killing 20 people and injuring countless others.

The weekend storm was the first hurricane to hit the country since the devastating January earthquake that left 250,000 dead and a million more homeless.
