People gather on Friday to view potential tsunami activity at Venice Beach in California after the huge earthquake in Japan generated a tsunami advisory for California and the West Coast of the United States.
The tsunami that caused havoc in northern Japan mostly spared other nations. Several boats and one of the docks were destroyed at the Santa Cruz harbor by waves caused by the quake, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Members of the U.S. Coast Guard were searching for a man who may be have been swept up by the water at the mouth of the Klamath River.
