Saving a species

The United Nations has moved the tiger to the top of its list of most important endangered animals of 2010. Fewer than 30 Chinese tigers (also known as South China tigers) still exist in the wild and about 60 live in captivity. Li Quan, founder of Save China’s Tigers, launched an awareness campaign to mark the Chinese Year of the Tiger, which began on Valentine's Day. Quan asked New Orleans artist Craig Tracy to create a piece of art to help publicize her organization's plight.
