Hare today

Birds are not the only animal species you can spot at the Baylands. Hares and ground squirrels are common, and you might be lucky enough to spot a bobcat or grey fox in the early morning or evening hours. Less likely to be spotted is the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse, a tiny and adorable species. Visitors might be able to see it perched atop taller plants during high tide.
