A major fault

One of the great sites of Point Reyes is the sweeping landscapes that can be seen from atop the peninsula. Indeed, looking out at the landscape will show visitors a great deal about the unusual geological history of the area and how this place is still being shaped by the San Andreas Fault, which runs along the eastern side of the park down the middle of Tomales Bay.
