Talk about innovative recycling! For over 5 years, The Coca-Cola Company has partnered with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy to convert old railroad tracks across the country into new green spaces where community members can enjoy all kinds of physical activity.

With the advent of the airlines, the popularity of train travel in the country declined and thousands of miles of old tracks became useless. Thanks to this program, the space is now being given back to communities.

The Coca-Cola Company has donated $500,000 to help the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and other local trail organizations to plan, improve and build trails across the U.S. With over 15,000 miles of track already converted, the program has helped encourage people in communities all over the country to embrace more active, healthy lifestyles in the outdoors.
