How about a desktop widget that shows the gallons of oil flowing into the gulf - something that looks like the display at the gas pump - so we have a ongoing tally of the spill. I don't see the current flow into the gulf on this visual

A few people have created widgets. If you go to the PBS Newshour website, they have an adjustable rate, and you can match it to different estimates of the rate, up to the expert's worst case scenario, and take a look at the huge difference in estimates and how bad this might be. in the comparison and in the information to clearly see the effects.
...knowing just how bad this oil spill has become....or being in the dark over the whole thing.
