Southwestern China struck by devastating earthquake

An injured child receives medical treatment on April 22 after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Lushan, Sichuan, China on April 20. As rescue and relief workers go into overdrive to recover survivors, at least 192 are confirmed dead, 23 are missing and more than 11,000 are injured.

The quake comes just a few years after the devastating 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, which killed more than 10,000 people and reduced 80 percent of Sichuan's Beichuan County to rubble. Many of the same Sichuan communities affected by Saturday's quake also suffered graved losses during the 2008 quake.
