Dear Mr. Science guy,
Water sprayed into the air, or onto the ground, doesn't just disappear, it does a thing called "evaporation" and becomes water vapor in the atmosphere.
This "water vapor" then condenses into what are called "rain clouds" which then release the water.
The water that evaporates out of the ocean is fresh water, salt doesn't evaporate, and those rain clouds that come in from the oceans then add more fresh water to our supplies.

People might get grossed out by it, but my Grandfather still has something called an "Evap-o-pit" next to his house. Junk goes from the toilets to septic tanks, then into the ground under his garden. Free water and fertilizer...giant vegetables even in the baking Texas heat.

Ha ... As always, Stewart is funny. I just hope people take this issue seriously. And there are so many new gadgets out there (low flow toilets, etc.) that can help.

We Don't Drink Rain
Yes, water evaporates and comes back to us in the form of rain, most of which ends up in the ocean. We don't drink rain. Rain picks up all the toxic crap floating in our atmosphere as it falls to the ground and would have to be treated for it to be healthy to drink. We drink water that comes from deep in the ground which takes years to go through a natural filtration process. That is the water we need to be concerned about.
