Ocean-loving married couple Gabrielle Reece and surfer Laird Hamilton recently toured the oil infested waters of the Gulf Coast with NRDC staff members. On a boat near Grand Isle, La., Reece and Hamilton witnessed firsthand the destruction the BP oil spill has inflicted on the natural world. They reflect about their love for the marine environment and why it's important to protect it.
