Getting excited about Greenbuild 2009

In one week, I'll be blogging live from the U.S. Green Building Council's Greenbuild 2009, here in Phoenix.

Next week I’ll be sitting at the LEED Silver certified Phoenix Convention Center surrounded by green building professionals at the U.S. Green Building Council’s annual conference and expo, Greenbuild 2009.

Over the course of the three-day conference I will be walking the expo floor to learn more about up-and-coming green building products, meeting with representatives from some innovative green building companies, and of course taking part in several of the educational sessions offered during the conference.

With over 100 educational sessions available, it was hard for me to choose one out of each time slot. After spending several days researching my options, I feel that I’ve chosen a good mix of sessions to attend. One of the discussions I’ll be sitting in on will examine the importance of green affordable housing, a topic on which I’ve recently written.

Other sessions that I’ll be attending include the importance of disaster-resistant green building, green jobs for green building programs, and a look into the future of sustainable homebuilding. Of course this isn’t a list of all of the sessions I’ve registered for, just a small sampling.

If you’re interested in the news coming out of Greenbuild 2009, follow along next week as I blog from the event.
