Art & Architecture

Art is the expression of creativity and imagination, exercised in such a way that it culminates in a perceptible work. Art is created and appreciated primarily for its aesthetic value or emotional power. The aesthetic and emotional value of certain art differs among each individual who perceives it. While "art" can refer to any creative expression and its resulting product, the term is often used to signify visual, stationary works such as paintings, sculptures and engravings, to name a few.

Architecture is the art, practice or profession of designing and constructing buildings, open areas, communities and other constructions. Like art, architecture is carried out with aesthetics in mind, but it is typically more constrained by the need for practicality and long-term functionality. Architecture also involves selecting furnishings and decorations, overseeing construction of the structure, inspecting, restoring and renovating an existing building. (Photo: Wikimedia Commons)
