Biodiesel News

Biodiesel

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel produced from agricultural resources such as canola oil, sunflower oil, recycled cooking oils and animal fats. In the U.S., most biodiesel is made from soybean oil.

This alternative fuel is extremely important for the environment because it helps reduce dependence on foreign oil (thus decreasing the impact made by importing and exporting) and the use of petroleum-based fuel. Biodiesel also reduces the emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases, which are released in large quantities by vehicles using traditional fuels. (Source: EPA, Photo: Flickr)
