Biodiversity

Biodiversity refers to the variety of lifeforms existing in a given ecosystem. On Earth that includes plants, animals, micro-organisms and many millions of different species of lifeforms. Maintaining healthy biodiversity is crucial because all aforementioned lifeforms are interdependent, and the wellbeing of each is linked to the others. Environmental detractors like climate change threaten biodiversity greatly and should be limited as much as possible to prevent further harm. (Photo: Flickr)
