Environmental Regulation

Environmental regulation also known as environmental law is the monitoring and enforcement of adherence to legal provisions established to regulate the interaction between humanity and the natural environment.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state environmental agencies regulate the impact of businesses on the environment in the United States. Global environmental governance falls wtihin the purview of governmental and nongovernmental organizations at levels ranging from local to national to international; the most important being the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which acts to centrally coordinate organizations and information.
