Ken Salazar currently serves as secretary of the interior where he is in charge of the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the United States Geological Survey and other federal agencies overseen by the Interior Department.

 

Salazar was nominated to lead the federal agency on December 17, 2008, and was confirmed as the 50th secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior on Jan. 20, 2009, in a unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate.
