Organic & Sustainable Wine

The U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau requires that wine labeled "100% Organic" must contain 100 percent organically produced ingredients and have been processed using organically produced processing aids, not counting water and salt. "100% Organic" products may not use added sulfites in production. Wine labeled "Organic" must contain at least 95 percent organically produced ingredients and must not contain added sulfites. A third category, "Made with organic ingredients," must contain at least 70 percent organically produced ingredients. (Source: TTB / Photo: Flickr)
