Renovation (sometimes called remodeling) is the act of restoring something old to an improved, like-new or new state. Renovating is similar to home improvement, except that the term 'renovation' can also refer to improving non-residential structures as well. In commercial renovation, building permits are often required for certain projects to commence. Commercial renovation is also consistently carried out by professional contractors rather than in a DIY fashion.

 

Just as home improvement carries many benefits, so too does commercial renovation. In an office environment, renovation can both increase employee performance and alter organizational layout to augment office efficiency. Customers will also be more attracted to a new-looking building than a dilapidated one; renovation contributes to branding as well.
