Just when you thought you had heard everything...
The new hot item for sale on Craigslist isn't clothes, or shoes, or cars. It's pregnancy tests
. Or rather, positive pregnancy tests. Leave it to your imagination to guess what buyers might want to use these items for.
A quick scan of Craiglist ads shows the tests for sale everywhere from Massachusetts to Texas. Most are selling for somewhere in the range of $25-$35. One post from Buffalo, N.Y., reads:
"Wanna get your boyfriend to finally pop the question? Play a trick on Mom, Dad or one of your friends? I really don't care what you use it for."
Apparently, the possibilities are endless.
And lest you think that folks are buying up just any old used pregnancy test, rest assured that quality is of the utmost importance to discerning buyers. Thus, one ad felt the need to reassure buyers,"This will NOT be a dollar store test. Will be either Clearblue First Response or EPT."
Whether it's used as a prank or to maliciously trick someone into thinking you're pregnant, brandishing a positive pregnancy test (when you're not really pregnant) is fraught with peril. At best, you will be left with devastated or disappointed friends or family. At worst, you could be looking at criminal charges for blackmail. In fact, I'm stumped to come up with a good use for one these items that won't end in disaster.
What do you think?
