As part of the Blackwood Educational Land Institute, a nonprofit land-based learning center that’s both an ecosystem and living classroom, Blackwood Nature Camp strives to build bonds between nature and campers. The outdoor and environmental education overnight camp for 8- to 13-year-olds offers activities such as natural crafts, astronomy, papermaking, a geology dig and pond ecology. Plus, kids participate in community service projects such as beekeeping, water harvesting and gardening.
