Department of Environmental Conservation campsThe Department of Environmental Conservation hosts four camps across New York state for kids ages 12 to 17 from Camp Rushford on the 4,500-acre Handing Bog Wildlife Management Area to Pack Forest in the Southern Adirondacks, which features ecology workshops for older campers. The affordable weeklong overnight camps provide both hands-on environmental learning activities and outdoor fun like hiking and canoeing. Campers are led by counselors who have taken at least two years of college science or environmental courses.
