Located on 248 acres near the Appalachian Trail, Eden Village Camp is a nonprofit Jewish environmental overnight camp for third- to 12th-graders celebrating its inaugural year this summer. Campers have a zero-waste goal and eat organic kosher food, mostly from the camp’s farm. They take part in organic farming, wilderness adventures, natural science and animal care. Eden Village runs on solar power and biodiesel and campers help to build and renovate cob ovens, straw bale huts and rainwater catchment systems.
