Tanglewood 4-H Camp’s goal is “to leave no child or adult inside,” and to teach campers to be respectful protectors of the Earth. The unplugged camp, which offers day and overnight sessions, is located on 940 acres of a state park in Maine using structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s along with 10 new green buildings. An organic garden and plenty of hiking trails are also on site. Campers choose among programs such as gardening, outdoor living, global action, watershed exploration, nature studies and forest adventure.
