Looking for an outdoor activity to share with your kids this fall? If you live in Illinois, Colorado, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Washington state or Georgia you're in luck. You and your family can sign up to attend one of the National Wildlife Federation's Hike & Seek events for a day of outdoor exploration, scavenger hunts and all-around family fun.

Here's how it works: first, you need to register for the event. Onsite registration is $15 per adult, $9 per child. But if you register online, you may be able to get in on their early bird prices ($12 per adult, $7 per child.) When you get to the event, you'll get a Hike & Seek Guidebook which will include a trail map, locations and descriptions of Stop & Study stations, a scavenger hunt checklist and activities, and local nature facts.

Most of the hikes are about one to two miles, perfect for kids of all ages, and there are lots of little stops along the way for everyone to catch up. Throughout the event kids will enjoy snacks, nature exhibits with live animals, filling their guidebook with stickers, and sharing the day outdoors with their families.
