This Saturday, Sept. 24, is National Museum Day — the day that hundreds of museums across the country open their doors and offer free admission to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket.  

 

You can visit Los Angeles' California Science Center (pictured above), Chicago's Adler Planetarium, or New York's Long Island Children Museum — and hundreds of other museums across the country — all for free. The nationwide event is sponsored by Smithsonian Magazine and all you have do to participate is head over to the Smithsonian website and sign up. You'll receive your ticket — good for you plus a guest — via email so you'll be good to go.
