Think you've got the next great green app idea? If you're a high schooler who likes to tinker with smartphone apps, I've got a contest for you.
The Zco Corporation
will be giving away its development services to the student or team of students who come up with a great green smartphone app idea that will benefit the Earth and the environment in a substantial way. Working under the guidance of a teacher, students are encouraged to get creative and think outside the box to attack environmental probelms using the hundreds of millions of smartphones — Android phones, iPhones, Blackberries, etc. — that are currently in use around the world. Once they land on an idea, Zco will develop it into app that can be donated to an appropriate nonprofit for distribution.
The official rules and regulations won't be released until July, but there's no time like the present to start thinking about ideas. Who knows, your idea might be the one to win the contest — and save the planet!
