Massaging your baby gently with baby lotion is a great way to help your baby relax and a lovely way to bond with your baby.
But most commercially prepared baby lotions are made with petroleum or petroleum by-products that are harmful to the planet and your baby. Food-based baby lotions, such as those made from apricot-seed, aloe vera, avocado, coconut, olive oil, sunflower, safflower, or vitamin E are a much healthy choice. Even better, try your hand at making your own nourishing green baby lotion. Here's how:
Honey and cream baby lotion
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup cream
Combine ½ cup of honey and ½ cup of cream in a saucepan and cook slowly over medium heat. Stir continually until the two are well blended. Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes. Store in an airtight container (preferably glass) in the refrigerator for up to one week. Allow mixture to cool completely before using.
