With winter approaching, the birds in your backyard may need a little help finding food.  You can help the birds and get your kids involved with this super-cool and ultra-easy eco-craft.  Here's how its done:

 

Ingredients

 

Pinecones

Peanut butter

Dried fruit

Sunflower seeds

String or wire

 

Attach enough string or wire to the top of your pinecone to make a sturdy hanger.  Spread 1/4 cup peanut butter (or enough to coat) on each pine cone.  Roll the pine cone in seeds and dried fruit and chill in the refrigerator for one hour to harden.  Hang the feeder in your backyard, preferably near a window so that your kids can watch the birds enjoy this treat all winter long.
