Teen eco-group launches green dorm makeover contest

Winners of the Green Dorm Makeover Contest will get everything they need to make the eco-dorm room of their dreams a reality.

Headed to college in the fall? Teens Turning Green wants to make sure you have plenty of great ideas for making your new dorm room as eco-savvy as possible. And as part of their new challenge, the Project Green Dorm Makeover Contest, they are giving away everything you might need to make your dream room a reality.

Until Sept. 3, 2012, you can enter the contest by signing up at the Project Green Dorm website and then designing your idea of ultimate green dorm room with images and descriptions on Pinterest. That's it!

You can use ideas from the Project Green Dorm site on everything from mattresses to notebooks. Or you can browse the web to find your own green dorm room supplies.

The Grand Prize package includes a $250 gift card to eBay Green, $250 gift card to Whole Foods Market, and organic pillows, comforter and towels. Second and third prize packages get lots of cool goodies too. And if nothing else, you will have a Pinterest board full of great ideas for greening your new college digs.

Contest winners will be announced Sept. 7.
