Why do cats purr? How can we turn garbage into energy?
Do you have a question that needs to be answered? The folks at the Google Science Fair want you to ask it.
The annual Google Science Fair is now open for submissions from all teens ages 13 to 18 years old. The worldwide event is similar to scaled-down science fairs in your local area: entrants submit their idea, perform an experiment, and present the results to be judged.
But don't get me wrong, the Google Science Fair is not your average competition. It seeks out entrants from all over the globe, boasts world-renowned judges, and offers amazing prizes such as a scientific trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Explorer, unique scholarships and real-life work opportunities in iconic science centers of excellence like CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Switzerland.
All you need to get started is an idea. Check out the Google Science Fair site for more details on how, when, and where to register.
All entries must be submitted by April 1, 2012.
