Today is National Teacher Day, a day to honor your local educators (both past and present) and acknowledge the crucial role teachers play in making sure every student receives a quality education.  Let's face it, teachers don't go in to teaching for the money.  They go in to it because they want to make a difference in the lives of kids...our kids.

And this is their why not give your favorite teacher a big fat thank you for all they do.  You don't need a big gift (although I'm sure no teacher would turn down a gift card to their favorite book store or a basket of supplies for the classroom.) But a simple thank you card that shows just how much you appreciate them will do as well.

Handmade cards are the best, but if your kids aren't the crafty type, just print out one of these handy thank you cards (on recycled paper, of course,) and ask your kids to sign their name.  And if you have a favorite teacher from when you were a kid, don't forget to send a card her way, too.
