I'm not sure what is more heartbreaking to me: the fact that this beach has oil on it or the fact that authorities are recommending families travel with Goo Gone to remove the oil after swimming. I know that these communities are dependent on tourism, but why are these beaches open to swimming at all? Is it really worth the health of our kids to let them splash around on beaches that have oil on them?
