The phone number for the Poison Control Center is one of those numbers that you probably don't have memorized because it's not one you tend to need on a day-to-day basis. But when you do need it, you need it fast — like yesterday fast.
The AAPCC recently released their new, free iPhone app to commerorate National Poison Prevention Week. The new app lets iPhone users connect with their local Poison Control Center wil the click of a button. It also offers poison prevention tips and info and gives users quick access to the AAPC website. So you can download the app and then forget about it. Hopefully, you'll never need it, but if you do, you'll be able to access it fast.
Don't have an iPhone? Don't worry — free apps for the Blackberry, Droid and Windows 7 smartphones are coming soon. And you can always go old school and manually program the AAPC number (800-222-1222) into your phone.
