Transcript:

Keri: Hi. I’m Keri Greenwald from Responsible Mommy. Today, I’m gonna talk to you about how your family can be a little more green. Specifically, we’re gonna talk about recycling. As we all know, learning good habits starts young, and children love to have fun with food and love to have fun with games. Each day in our household, we recycle probably 10 to 12 items. They range from Kleenex boxes and cereal containers to yogurt cups and apple sauce containers, and of course, some packaging from a toy here or there. My children love to have a race to the recycling bins. We keep three of them conveniently located in the garage because we found we fill up the bins so quickly, it didn’t make sense to keep a bin inside of our house. Another thing we like to do as a family is just compare at the end of the week, what does our recycling pile look like versus our garbage pile? As we’ve gotten smarter with our recycling, and as we’ve taken note of how many different items we can actually put in the recycling, we have much less garbage these days and we like to think that we’re setting an example for the rest of the neighborhood. So remember, it feels great to be a little green.
