Gaia is the protector of the planet. She brought the Planeteers to her home base on Hope Island to help in the battle to save Earth. She is a source of wisdom and advice for Captain Planet and the Planeteers. She helps the Planeteers identify environmental problems via Planetvision, a series of crystalline screens. She gave the Planeteers their rings and special powers. Whoopi Goldberg voiced Gaia in Captain Planet and the Planeteers. Margot Kidder voiced Gaia in The New Adventures of Captain Planet.
