The National Museum of Play is devoted solely to the study of play. So what does that mean for your brood? Among other attractions, kids can stroll through Sesame Street, attend Super Powers school, try their hand at classic video games throughout history, meet the Berenstain Bears and run a kid-sized supermarket. And if that’s not enough, you can also visit the National Toy Hall of Fame and an indoor butterfly garden. Plus, the current “Five Friends from Japan: Children in Japan Today” exhibit, which runs from June 18 to September 11, will introduce kids to the country they’ve been hearing a lot about lately.
