Mother's Day tea time
First lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, host a party May 10 at the White House for mothers, grandmothers and children — many of whom hail from military families — in celebration of Mother's Day and Military Spouse Appreciation Day.

 

After the tea, Obama and Biden joined military families in packing 2,000 Mother's Day gift boxes with charm bracelets, cosmetics and handwritten notes from service members for distribution by the USO and Full Circle Home, a nonprofit group that provides gifts on behalf of deployed service members.
