Once you've picked out a gorgeous, green Christmas tree, stay in the green state of mind by crafting your own ornaments. One requirement for this new tradition: they must be made from recycled materials that you find around the house.

An ornament is one item that can be especially sentimental — families pass them down for generations, they're given as gifts and many of them commemorate something special. As if you weren't feeling festive enough at holiday time, handmade, repurposed-material ornaments will make you feel even warmer and fuzzier because they're made with extra TLC and they're not harming the environment — a great gift any time of year.
