A lot of heroes will be honored this weekend: those who survived, those that didn't ... and those who rose to the occasion to help their friends, neighbors and fellow Americans in need. But let's not forget the four-legged heroes who also served their country on Sept. 11.
As a way to pay homage to the search and rescue dogs of 9/11, Explore.org
has produced a new short film that profiles Abby, the last surviving Sept. 11 search-and-rescue dog from the national Search Dog Foundation
(SDF). The film is presented by Dog Bless You
, and will be released on Sunday.
UPDATE: As promised: Here's the full-length film!
