A disabled rescue kitten named Ralphee now has a special friend to watch over her: a cattle dog named Max.
The two have been inseparable since they were introduced, and Max has proved to be quite the guardian for Ralphee, who has a neurological disorder known as feline cerebellar hypoplasia.
The kitten's cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls coordination and motor skills, is underdeveloped. Cats with the disorder are often called “wobbly cats” because of their unsteady walk.
The condition is non-progressive, meaning it won’t get worse over time, and Ralphee’s life expectancy is the same as other cats.
