Students can also make more responsible choices about the kinds of materials they use, what the source is for their binders/papers/equipment/supplies. Thanks for this great story. I agree that it is the students that will primarily push these colleges to re-examine their sustainable practices. I think it is interesting that students are choosing to not attend certain colleges because they are not green.

Your newsletter came just in time!! I spent hours online yesterday looking for organic Twin XL bedding for my son's dorm room. Gaiam.com, where I usually buy everything, has nothing in Twin XL. I told them they were missing out on a huge market, college students living in dormitories! I thought I was going to have to buy regular cotton sheets at Bed, Bath & Beyond and wash them a few times (B, B & B does carry organic sheets, just not Twin XL).
