There is indeed a national security issue raised by selling this ex-military brand to China. But it's not the U.S. that faces a threat from this boat anchor of a brand.

The "new" GM will be much smaller, less global, and focused on making fuel-efficient vehicles. But can we all shed a tear for the company that (probably) made our first car?

Some 10 million vehicles were recalled in 2006, so when loose bolts sideline 345 Tesla Roadsters it doesn't change the future of electric transportation.
