Pour-a-Palooza for craft beer lovers

Pour-a-Palooza is an event that local and craft beer lovers in the South Jersey/Philadelphia region won't want to miss.
Wed, Jul 15 2009 at 10:08 AM EST

The Pour House beer bar (beer bar – isn’t that a bit redundant?) in Westmont, N.J., will be hosting Pour-a-Palooza on July 18. The Pour House is a new addition to what has become South Jersey’s restaurant row, Haddon Avenue. A strip of Haddon Avenue that runs through Haddonfield, Haddon Township and Collingswood has had a restaurant renaissance in the past five years or so.

The Pour House’s regular menu has a vast beer selection, and while it’s not exclusive to local breweries, it’s clear that the owners of the restaurant are supportive of the region’s breweries. There are always several beers on tap from local breweries as well as various bottles. The bar’s support of local breweries makes me want to visit frequently.

Pour-a-Palooza will host several area craft breweries including:
  • Victory - Downingtown, Pa.
  • Flying Fish - Cherry Hill, N.J.
  • Sly Fox - Phoenixville, Pa.
  • Stoudts - Adamstown, Pa.
  • River Horse - Lambertville, N.J.
  • Troegs - Harrisburg, Pa.
  • Yards - Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Weyerbacher - Easton, Pa.

A handful of breweries from other regions will be at the event, too.

There will also be food, music and more at the event. If you’re in the region, and you’re a beer lover, stop on by. If you order tickets before the event, your ticket will include a food voucher. Tickets purchased on the day of the event don’t include the food voucher.  I’ve got my tickets, and next week I’ll let you know what I thought of the local beers that I discover.
