Orange Liquor

Add the liquor to any recipe that calls for Triple Sec, or pour over pound cake.

Orange Liquor

Ingredients

  • 4 oranges any combination of Valencia, blood, navel
  • Juice of 4 oranges
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cups brandy
Directions
  1. Scrub oranges under running water. Using a potato peeler, remove outer skin from fruit in long thin strips. Place strips in 2 quart jar. Add orange juice, coriander,  sugar and cinnamon. Let stand for 30 to 60 minutes to allow sugar to dissolve. Add brandy. Shake and place in a cool dark place for 2 months. Taste and steep for up two months more for optimal flavor. Shake on occasion.
  2. Using a metal sieve, strain contents into a 1-quart jar. Store in cool dark place until ready to use.
